Local Area Planning 2007

The Anglesea Key Priorities report stemmed from discussions that took place at the Local Area Planning sessions in November. The report was compiled by community members who volunteered their time to work with Council staff, on both the report and presenting these ideas to Council at a Council Briefing.

The key topics for discussion are listed below, with the full report available from http://eforum.surfcoastdirectories.com/

To be involved in further discussion around any of these issues, please contact Rochelle Harding on +61 3 5261 0540 or localareaplans@surfcoast.vic.gov.au

October 2007

A series of two local area planning sessions are scheduled to take place in Anglesea in October and November. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to future planning in Anglesea, and a great chance to meet with other community members to determine opportunities for positive change and celebration of achievements.

The participants in first session will be randomly selected community members, who were sent invitations during October. This process of random selection was chosen to ensure a broad and fair representation of community ideas, and also to encourage participation from community members who may not usually come to such community events. This session will be held on Wednesday 31 October.

The second session is open to the wider Anglesea community, including permanent and non-permanent residents, visitors, tourists and people who may work or socialise in the Anglesea area. Everyone is welcome to come along, to meet with other community members and chat about local issues. Details are as follows:

When: Wednesday 21 November, 7pm-9:30pm

Where: Anglesea Hotel Function Room

Refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to Rochelle Harding on 5261 0540 or localareaplans@surfcoast.vic.gov.au

The overall aim of the two sessions will be to develop a series of recommendations which outline community priorities in Anglesea for 2008 and beyond. The group’s recommendations will be presented to Council on 11 December 2007. Feedback from this presentation will be sent to participants and made available to the wider community.

If you are unable to attend Local Area Planning sessions in person or wish to participate online then please visit the Surf Coast Shire eForum, or email: eforum@surfcoast.vic.gov.au
