Best Practice for Use of Wood Heaters

During the winter season or cool nights, wood heaters are often used. Please consider the smoke emissions that are generated when the fire is in use and the effect on your neighbours. Smoke emissions may trigger existing medical conditions of neighbours or may simply cause a nuisance as clean clothes on a washing line could be affected. There are many helpful hints the Council's Environmental Health Unit can provide to wood heater owners to reduce smoke emissions and nuisance complaints. Click on link to Best Practice for use of wood heaters. Pamphlets are available from Council.
