Pathways

Surf Coast Shire Pathways Strategy : Connecting Communities

The 2006 Pathway Plan has been developed for the whole municipality following the 2004 Shire Community Plan which highlighted the desire of many of our communities to improve pedestrian pathways around their townships.

Details for each township can be found below.

In coming years it is expected that the Council's Capital Works Program will include the construction of many new pathways to reflect the community desire.

Requests for consideration of a new pathways not already identified in the Pathway Strategy can be referred to Customer Service for consideration in future reviews.

PATHWAYS STRATEGY
Connecting Communities

The Surf Coast Shire Pathways Strategy has involved the production of a comprehensive plan of existing and potential pathway linkages including footpaths, shared pathways, on-road bike lanes and walking tracks.

The establishment of a good quality pathway network will improve physical and social connections as well as benefits for the environment and general health.
