Torquay / Jan Juc Structure Plan
The 2006 Torquay Jan Juc Structure Plan is a written and pictorial statement of the preferred form of growth and development of the towns of Torquay and Jan Juc for as least the next 20 years. The Plan will:
- Help coordinate the staging of land rezoning for residential and commercial development.
- Assist Council and other infrastructure providers to identify and prioritise the provision of new infrastructure (community facilities, public open space, water sewerage etc) to meet the needs of the projected population growth.
- Commence the introduction of a Development Contribution Plan in Torquay and Jan Juc to allow the collection of contributions from developers to fund physical and social infrastructure.

A Planning Scheme Amendment process has been commenced to implement the
recommendations of the Structure Plan. This is expected to be placed on exhibition
sometime in early 2008.
