Surf Coast Tourism

Surf Coast Tourism is the Local Tourism Association for the Surf Coast region. Local Tourism Associations (LTA) represent local tourism businesses and focus their efforts on servicing visitors to the Surf Coast region and ensuring "delivery on the promise".

Surf Coast Tourism works in partnership with each of the Local Tourism & Trader listed
below. These associations represent tourism related businesses in each local area and play an important role focusing their efforts on servicing visitors to their township.

Surf Coast Tourism also works in close partnership with Geelong Otway Tourism, the peak tourism body and Regional Tourism Organisation for the region. The role of Geelong Otway Tourism is the management and development of sustainable tourism within a region to increase visitation and yield through external marketing.

By becoming a member with Surf Coast Tourism, you will automatically become an affiliated member of Geelong Otway Tourism, giving your business the advantage of a host of local, customised initiatives and the opportunity to participate in comprehensive marketing activities.

Tourism Strategic Plan

The Surf Coast Shire Tourism Unit, in conjunction with Council, Surf Coast Tourism Board and industry stakeholders, has developed a Strategic Plan which outlines the future direction for Tourism in the Surf Coast region.
The Plan was adopted by Council in August 2006. A number of strategies are to be implemented under six core areas of responsibility including Partnerships, Funding, Research & Communication, Promotion & Marketing, Product & infrastructure Development and Industry Professionalism.
