Public Transport

Bus Stops

New bus routes and stops are installed in association with the State’s Department of Transport and the bus operator. The Shire refers requests for extension of bus routes or new bus stops to the bus operator, McHarry’s Buslines, in the first instance.

Bus Shelters

In recent years, the Shire has provided a small allocation each year for the replacement of old bus shelters and installation of new ones. The priority for provision of the bus shelters is usually determined upon the number of people utilising the bus stop. Requests for new bus shelters can be referred through Customer Service.

Bus Timetables

Information regarding bus timetables can be obtained from the bus operator, McHarry’s or VLine on 136 196.

School Bus Routes

Changes to school bus routes are referred from individual schools to the Department of Education bus route coordinator. In turn, the coordinator requests the Shire for approval to use the roads proposed along the new route.

Public Transport Services

To assist residents and visitors access information on train and bus services, Viclink has a site set up which details timetables, route information and includes a journey planner.
