| Waste Management "Reduce, Re-use and Recycle" An increasing environmental awareness along the Surf Coast has raised expectations of waste management practices. Council has responded by encouraging people to "Reduce, Re-use and Recycle". Householders are required to separate paper, cardboard, other recyclables and general rubbish when leaving these out for collection from the kerbside. A range of materials including paper, cardboard, plastics of type 1 - 7, glass, metal and garden organise waste, can be brought to Surf Coast Shire waste transfer sites for reycling.
