Youth Development

Strapper Surf SK8 Series - Geelong 2009-2010 - commences September 20 at Geelong Waterfront, Torquay October 18, Lara November 8, North Shore December 6 - Finals 24 January 2010. Heaps of prizes and giveaways!
Midnight Adventures on the surf coast - Saturday October 17 & 24 6pm to midnight - Anglesea YMCA - free! - includes activities (skateboarding, rock climbing, high ropes, basketball & giant swing), food, transport, youth focussed workshops!

Music and Cultural Events... For Young People - By Young People!!
Surf Coast's FReeZA committee are called Nerve Productions, they organise a bunch of different stuff from Music and Band events to High Tide Festival and Short Film Exhibtions, this year they helped out at the Rip Curl Pro and are pretty much only limited by imagination! Check it out!

- Schoolies Working Group - 20 November to 5 December 2009
The Schoolies Working Group (SWG) was established in March 2005.
The SWG was originally established as a sub-committee of the Community Impact Advisory Committee (CIAC). The SWG is co-ordinated by the Youth Development Unit at Surf Coast Shire. SWG has a range of strategies based on harm minimisation and minimal impact to the community and the environment. The working group represents a partnership between local government, Police, community groups, emergency services, traders and youth organisations.
