Recycling is back to normal

Council's recycling processor, SKM, has received approval from the EPA to reopen its major recycling plant in Laverton North.
This means SKM can also reopen its Geelong depot, where they sort materials from the region before sending it to the larger recycling facilities.
So, household recyclables collected through your yellow bin will, once again, be processed for recycling and we no longer need to send any of this material to our Anglesea landfill site.
What does this mean for you?
- Please continue to separate recyclable material and place it in the recycling bin.
Recycling is important and your efforts count. All your recyclable material will be sorted and processed as usual.
- All existing bin collection days are unchanged and it’s business as usual for the landfill (red) and organics (green) bins.
- Anglesea residents: this does not affect organics collection, so continue with the pilot as is.
- As always we recommend people continue to seek ways to reduce and reuse items.
