Coombes Road Improvements
Update 13 October 2020 –Works to improve the intersection at Ghazeepore Road are currently underway and expected to be completed by November.

Completion: July - November 2020.
Work is scheduled to start on 10 February on major safety improvements to a section of Coombes Road, Torquay.
The project will be completed in two stages:
Starting 10 February reconstruction and widening of Coombes Road between Ghazeepore Road and Anglesea Road roundabout, and
Starting about May, improvements to the intersection of Coombes and Ghazeepore roads, including installation of concrete islands, new kerbing, lighting, and improving of sight lines for drivers.
Coombes Road will remain open to local traffic at all times, but from 17 February will be closed to through traffic from about 7am to 5pm on weekdays.
Traffic will be detoured via Ghazeepore/Anglesea roads to Grossmans Road. Traffic control measures will be in place at the Grossmans/Anglesea roads intersection.
Coombes Road will be open outside business hours, including weekends, with a 40km/h speed limit. Speed limits will return to existing arrangements once work is complete.
Rebuilding and widening will increase the sealed width of the road three metres, to about nine metres.
Accompanying drainage improvements will also be completed.
