Deep Creek Nature Reserve pathways

  • Project typePathways
  • Completion Date25 December 2019

Update 19 June 2020 – Pathway works completed. Awaiting installation of signage in June.

Works to construct a gravel pathway at Deep Creek Nature Reserve to connect with the recently completed bridge and existing pathway network are due to commence in early November 2019.

These works are the next phase of the Deep Creek Nature Reserve off – road shared pedestrian and cycle bridge project and are a key part of the 2003 master plan for the reserve. The proposed pathway will improve access, safety and travel to and from the existing educational, recreational and residential precincts in the area.

The pathway works will be made up of the following sections:

Section 1: Connection of the existing section of path from Darian road, north south to the new bridge.

Section 2: Connection from the north south section at a junction point near Centre Court through to the maintenance access gate at Parkside Crescent.

The pathway is to be constructed of gravel and will be built on top of the existing ground surface which requires no excavation. It is estimated the pathway works will commence in early November 2019 with estimated completion prior to Christmas 2019, subject to ground conditions and weather permitting.

The area will remain accessible with construction being undertaken in sections of path, allowing detouring by users to be achieved.

Signs will be located on site to keep users updated of any changes to access.
