How do I develop a COVID-Safe Plan for my business?

The National 3-step plan to ease restrictions and make Australia COVID-safe includes a requirement for each business to develop a COVID-Safe plan.

What is a COVID-Safe Plan?

It is a plan specific to your business to operate in a COVID-Safe way to protect your customers and workers.
It will be a good tool to help you talk to your staff about changes to your business practises and address any concerns.
It will also provide your customers with confidence to visit your business and enjoy their experience knowing you have considered COVID-Safe steps.

What does a COVID-Safe Plan look like?

The Australian Government has released a template for businesses to develop a COVID-Safe Plan. Covid-Safe Template(PDF, 3MB)

The COVID-Safe Plan for businesses has three sections:

  1. Keeping people safe:
    a.  Including you, staff, customers and the public
    b.  Maintain good hygiene and cleaning
    c.  Stay physically distant
    d.  Follow advice specific to your business or industry
    e.  How will you respond if there is a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 associated with your business?

  2. Adapting Your Business
    a.  Identify how to get things up and running
    b.  How to adapt your business

  3. Accessing Support & Assistance
    a.  A summary list of Federal and State support available for businesses
    b.  Develop a plan and steps for re-opening
