Inspired by Surf Coast campaign
During the first lockdown, Surf Coast Shire Council’s Buy Surf Coast campaign gave more than 650 local businesses an online platform to let people know how they were operating.
Through this campaign, we gained an audience of 5,100 website visitors and achieved an online reach of 36,742 people. We encouraged locals to #BuySurfCoast through a mix of social media and full page ads in the Surf Coast Times.
Introducing the next stage of our buy local campaign…
The next stage of the Buy Local campaign is called - Inspired by Surf Coast.
We were inspired by the quality, innovation and variety of products and services available from local Surf Coast Shire businesses, so we upgraded the website to provide a place where local customers can quickly discover new unique gift ideas, shopping, food and drinks, creative arts, trades and services.
An interactive map on the website pinning over 650 local businesses features a search function making it easy to find any business by type and locality, and provides information (including opening hours) to help locals find services during current Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions and beyond.
The Inspired by Surf Coast website is now live at www.buysurfcoast.com.au. The campaign includes a strong social media element and will run from now until at least Christmas 2020.
While accommodation providers will not feature, they can take advantage of the free ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse)/GORRT listing offer at www.greatoceanroadtourism.org.au/atdw-listing/ offering access to Melbourne, regional, interstate and international markets and linked to future tourism destination campaigns.
