The Great Ocean Road region is known national and internationally as a spectacularly pristine environment with much to offer the many thousands of visitors who come to visit annually.

The Surf Coast is the official start of the Great Ocean Road and tourism is one of the major sectors of the local economy. In recognition of this, Council delivers a range of opportunities for local businesses to engage with the tourism market including:

  • Visitor Information Centres
  • Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism Opportunities
  • Surf Coast Walk
  • Business Events Great Ocean Road

You can find our more information on these programs below.

Visitor Information Centres (VICs)

Accredited Visitor Information Centre LOGO_RGB.jpg Council operates four Visitor Information Centres in the Surf Coast Shire region in Torquay, Lorne, Anglesea and Winchelsea. Our VICs play an important role in inspiring visitors to stay longer and experience more of what we have to offer. They assist around 250,000 people with visitor information each year.

Any tourism related business is welcome to enquire about promoting their business through our VICs. Commercially rated tourism businesses can apply to display a brochure for free at their local VIC. Opportunities also exist to promote your business in many of the region's VICs, through a membership with Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism.
