Council once again supported International Women's Day to celebrate the achievements of women and inspire action on gender equality.

The global day on 8 March recognises the social, economic, cultural, political and personal achievements of women. The 2021 theme was Choose to Challenge, and highlighted everyone's responsibility to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality.

To mark the day this year Council featured inspiring women from Surf Coast Shire, celebrating and promoting their achievements and sharing their reflections on 'Choosing to Challenge' seeking to normalise gender equality and women's independence in public and private life.
