On May 17 people all over Australia will celebrate IDAHOBIT Day and stand against discrimination in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) mates, colleagues and families.
Join us the evening before, Thursday 16 May, to mark the occasion and hear guest speaker Jessica Walton talk about her journey.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or on 5261 0600.
About Jessica Walton
Jessica is an author, teacher, parent, daughter of a trans parent and a proud queer disabled woman.
Jessica wrote the picture book 'Introducing Teddy: a story about being yourself' to help explain gender identity in a simple, positive way to her kids.
At the age of nine, Jess lost her leg to cancer and has worn a prosthetic leg ever since. Sick of legs that tried to mimic real skin she started wearing patterned prosthetic legs. She hopes to design a snow globe-style prosthetic leg, with glittering snow swirling every time she takes a step.
