Bring your friends, bring your family to Fire Up!

Our fire Danger Period usually extends into late April, and in the event of a fire you’ll need to act quickly and make decisions under pressure. Planning and preparing NOW will help you get it right when you need to.

The Moriac session is cancelled due to heat and being a day of Total Fire Ban with a severe Fire Danger Rating.

  • How do grassfires behave?
  • How can I prepare my house and property?
  • How do I protect myself and my family in a fire?
  • Is my farm as well prepared as it could be?
  • Where can I find out information about local fires?
  • What actions can I take to help my local fire brigade?

Council officers, CFA staff, your local brigade and Victoria Police will be available to answer your questions.

Similar Fire Up! sessions, focusing on local fire risk, were run in Lorne, Deans Marsh, Aireys Inlet, Anglesea, Bellbrae and Jan Juc in November-December 2016.
