Anglesea welcomes Amy as Family Day Care Educator

11 August 2017

Amy Vasher-Cockle counts herself lucky to continually see youngsters learn new skills and make discoveries. It’s all part of Amy’s fulfilling role as the new Family Day Care Educator in Anglesea.

“It’s a rewarding experience,” she said. “I enjoy being part of our community by connecting with local families.”

It’s been about seven years since Surf Coast Shire Council offered a Family Day Care service in Anglesea. It has returned to meet the growing childcare needs of the community.

“Family Day Care offers families a personalised service,” Amy said.

“It's a fantastic bridge from home to more structured care. The regulations and accountability procedures that Council and we as Family Day Care educators follow, ensure local families are getting a quality service and fantastic value.”

Council also has educators in Bellbrae, Deans Marsh, Gherang, Jan Juc, Torquay and Winchelsea. If you are interested in the service, there are vacancies available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The service is for children aged between six weeks and 12 years.

Council is currently recruiting Family Dare Care educators. To find out more about becoming a Family Day Care educator or to register your child for Family Day Care, visit or email
