Councillor Rose Hodge was first elected to Council in 2004 and has been Mayor four times. She has worked as a dental therapist and is now a partner in a bricklaying business. She has a strong 40+ year association with the Torquay-Jan Juc area.

She is a board member of Gateways Support Services and Torquay Community Enterprise as well as an active community member who has served on committees for Spring Creek Community House, Torquay Cricket Club and as president of the Jan Juc Kindergarten. She is also a life member of the Torquay Netball Club.

Rose is a strong advocate for active and passive recreation facilities. She looks forward to the completion of future stages of the Surf Coast Community and Civic Precinct, the building and completion of the Torquay North kinder and new netball rooms in the Torquay ward, and will work towards an Arts/Gallery area as well as ensuring that the many community groups are well-represented. She looks forward to ensuring the local community is heard and engaged.
