Cr Rose Hodge has served as a Councillor since 2004 and has been Mayor five times. She is also a three time member of the Local Government Mayoral Panel. She knows she will find local government as challenging, diverse and rewarding this year as it was in year one.

In 2023, Cr Hodge was awarded a Medal in the Order of Australia for service to local government, and to the community.

In this term Cr Hodge is looking forward to working with the arts community to establish a home at the Torquay Surf World complex and advocating for a new library and cultural centre in the future.

A long-time resident of Jan Juc, with her husband, Cr Hodge has three adult children. She is passionate about achieving an inclusive community; one of her sons has autism and she proudly serves on the All Abilities Advice Committee. She loves working with the community and is a past member of many local sport and kindergarten committees. She has been on the Torquay Community Enterprise board since 2013 and is a proud Life Member of the Torquay Netball Club.
