The coast of the Surf Coast Shire, including beaches, estuaries, coastal reserves, parts of the Great Otway National Park and the inshore marine environment, is managed by the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA).

The coastline extends from Point Impossible to St Georges River, and includes foreshore areas within and adjacent to Torquay, Jan Juc, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet, Fairhaven, Moggs Creek, Eastern View and Lorne.

GORCAPA is responsible for the strategic planning and day-to-day management of these areas to protect natural and cultural values and provide for the land to be appropriately used, enjoyed and appreciated.

This includes managing foreshore caravan parks, foreshore rubbish bins, maintaining public reserves and facilities, conservation works and environmental protection, the provision of access and infrastructure, and issuing leases, licences and permits for appropriate community and commercial uses such as food and beverage businesses and a range of events.

If you have a question, concern or request relating to these coastal areas, please visit GORCAPA  or contact them directly on 1300 736 533.
