When are rates due?

Rate notices are usually issued to ratepayers in July each year. Reminder notices for the second, third and fourth instalments will also be issued throughout the year.

Rates, charges and levies are payable by four instalments due on:

30 September 2023

30 November 2023

28 February 2024

31 May 2024

Monthly direct debit payments

You can also choose to pay your rates in monthly direct debit payments. Payments are processed on the last day of the month (from September to May) or the next working day if this day falls on a non-working day.

  • Complete the Direct debit request form.
  • We will notify you of the payment amounts and dates in writing after we receive your application.

Other payment methods

If you don't want to pay monthly by direct debit, you can pay with one of the following methods (you can find details of these on your rates notice)

  • Online
  • Bpay
    Contact you participating Bank, Credit Union or Building Society to make this payment from your cheque, savings account or credit card. Quote your Biller Code and Reference Number indicated on the front of this notice.
  • By mail
    Detach payment slip and mail with cheque or money order made payable to Surf Coast Shire (no pins or staples please). Retain the top portion for your records as no receipt will be issued.
  • By phone
    Ring 13 18 16 and quote the Billpay Code and Reference number on the front of the notice
  • In person
    Australia Post offices and agencies.
