Cr Libby Stapleton has been an active member of the Surf Coast Shire community for more than 20 years.
Currently serving her third mayoral term, Cr Stapleton has a strong focus on good governance and integrity. She is committed to working collaboratively with fellow councillors to build a high-performing and effective Council. Her key areas of interest include the arts, natural environment, sustainable tourism and housing affordability.
She brings professional expertise in public relations, complemented by experience in adventure recreation, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. This combination provides a strong, well-rounded skill set that supports her work as a councillor.

Beyond her role on Council, Cr Stapleton enjoys connecting directly with the community as the operator of the much-loved Aireys Inlet Market. In her spare time, she embraces the outdoor lifestyle of the Surf Coast exploring local trails on foot and bike, camping with family and friends, and practising yoga. She is grateful to call Surf Coast Shire home.
