VIDEO: Anglesea kinder kids learn about dog safety

Zia the therapy dog was a popular visitor at Anglesea Kindergarten this month.

From how to approach a dog to the best way to give a good pat, Zia's owner Amy shared various dog safety tips with the children.

Ranger Jason also spoke to the kindergarteners about how rangers help keep people and animals safe in the community.

Annual animal registrations are due 11 April

Thank you to the pet owners who renew their registration each year.

Why it’s important to register your pet:

- Helps our rangers reunite lost pets with their owners.

- Supports a range of animal management services including patrols, running the dog pound, purchasing equipment such as cat cages, and our after-hours service.

We heard through our recently-adopted Domestic Animal Management Plan that registration fees was one of the top five difficulties for pet owners.
