New aquatic and recreation centre getting close to completion

The name of our new Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre was installed today - 29 October - marking another milestone on the way to opening early next year.

Tomorrow we'll see installation of the logo, inspired by the circles traditionally drawn in the sand by Wadawurrung people to represent gathering places where communities would meet, share knowledge and connect on Country.

Check out this video to see what's been happening inside the centre:

From Sunday 1 November, Belgravia Leisure will take over management of the existing stadium and Winchelsea Pool, ahead of managing the new aquatic and recreation centre when it opens.

Wurdi Baierr means ‘big gathering place’ in Wadawurrung language.
