The Surf Coast Shire Council meeting is coming to Winchelsea’s Eastern Reserve Community Centre on Tuesday 26 August.

The meeting will start at 6pm, but everyone is invited to come along from 5.30pm for a cuppa and a chat with councillors beforehand.

“We’re so pleased to be holding our Council meeting in Winchelsea this month. It’s important for us to be present in our communities and to make local government accessible to everyone across the shire,” Cr Adrian Schonfelder, who represents the Winchelsea Ward, said.

“This is a great opportunity for Winchelsea locals to chat with their councillors, listen to the debate and watch how decisions are made.”

“Everyone is invited to come along, hear what’s happening locally, and see the democratic process in action,” Cr Schonfelder said.

The Council meeting will also be livestreamed so people can choose to watch it live at home (with live captions) or watch the recording at a later date.

Council meetings are generally held on a monthly basis at Council Chambers in Torquay, but throughout the year meetings are also held in the Winchelsea and Otway Range Wards.

The August meeting agenda will be published online on the evening of 21 August.
