Surf Coast Shire Council has finalised its council meeting schedule for 2026, with meetings to again be held in all wards during the year. Alongside regular meetings at the Civic Offices in Torquay, Council’s March meeting will be at the Modewarre Memorial Hall (Winchelsea Ward), and the September meeting at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall (Otway Range Ward). Mayor Libby Stapleton said the continuation of twice-yearly Council meetings outside Torquay would give residents across the shire an opportunity to attend meetings closer to home. “Council meetings are a chance for the community to ask a question, watch the decision-making process in action and to see the reasoning behind strategic decisions,” Mayor Stapleton said. “Everyone is welcome to attend any of our council meetings, or tune in online via our livestream. “Next year we’re looking forward to holding meetings in Modewarre and Aireys Inlet, and we encourage all residents of those two towns to come along.” The first meeting of 2026 will take place on 24 February 2026 in Torquay. Meetings will then be monthly on the fourth Tuesday of every month, with the exception of December, which will be on the second Tuesday of the month to accommodate the Christmas period. 2026 Council meeting schedule
