Surf Coast Shire Council will begin replacing 21 damaged or missing rubber speed humps in Jan Juc. Works will commence in mid-June and are expected to be completed during July.

Council will upgrade the existing broken or missing rubber speed humps to compliant asphalt speed humps. These traffic-calming measures aim to help slow vehicles and improve safety for all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists.

“It’s great to see these being replaced. There are so many gaps where part or all of the speed hump is missing,” said Cr Liz Pattison.

“These speed humps help make the roads safer for everyone by slowing traffic.”

The rubber speed humps are being replaced as they no longer meet required standards.
