Business owners from Winchelsea and surrounds can receive expert advice and training at an action-packed day on Wednesday 9 September.

Organised by Surf Coast Shire Council’s Business Support team, local business operators are invited to participate in several events at Winchelsea Shire Hall:

  • Small Business Bus visit

Book a 45-minute confidential session to receive tailored advice to help you start, build or transform your small business. Runs between 10am and 4pm.

  • Social Media and Content Marketing workshop
For small business owners and entrepreneurs who will develop a social media and marketing plan with compelling content to attract more customers. From 9.30am to 12.30pm. Limited to 30 people.

  • Chat with the Surf Coast Business Support team
  • Drop in to talk with Council’s Business Support officers about how Council can help you: from networking opportunities and grants programs, to permit advice. From 8.30am to 9.30am.

The Small Business Bus and the marketing workshop are initiatives of Business Victoria. There is no cost to attend. Registrations are essential via surfcoast.vic.gov.au/business.

Councillor Joel Grist hoped that interested people would make the most of the initiatives.

“Local businesses are the heartbeat of our communities; they make towns like Winchelsea a vibrant and welcoming place for both residents and visitors,” he said.

“I encourage people to attend these business support events to feel better equipped with tools and knowledge to help grow their business.

“You can attend all three, or simply one – whatever suits you best.”

Meanwhile, business owners from across the shire are invited to the next workshop in Council’s Better Business Skill series.

Titled ‘The Turning Point: finding your path to growth’, the interactive session will be presented by experienced mentor and consultant Adrian Jobson. It’s aimed at business owners who want to grow or take the next step.

The workshop will be held at Surf Coast Shire Council in Torquay on Thursday 3 September from 9am to 12.30pm. There is no cost to attend.
