Extreme fire danger day - Tuesday 27 January 2026
The CFA has declared an Extreme fire danger day for Tuesday 27 January 2026.
For the safety of the community and employees, our services and facilities will not operate in high risk areas in the highest risk times.
The following services and facilities will be impacted:

- No home visits will be scheduled in the Bushfire Risk areas

Waste Services
|
- TUESDAY BIN COLLECTIONS will start early in the morning tomorrow due to the forecast Extreme fire danger rating. Please place your bins out tonight (Monday 26 January) if they are normally collected on Tuesdays.
- Anglesea Landfill will be open from 5am to 10am for commercial customers and Anglesea Transfer Station will be open from 9am to 10am for all other customers.
- Anglesea Re-Sale Shed closed

Litter bin servicing and street litter removal
|
- Collection in Bushfire and Grassfire risk zones to occur outside highest risk times (e.g. before 10am and after 6pm).

|
Council managed reserves and community facilities regardless of the management model. i.e. CAC or Council managed.

- Services will be provided / facilities can be accessed except in Bushfire risk zones at highest risk times.
- Services in Grassfire risk zones at high-risk times may be affected.

Lorne, Anglesea and Winchelsea Visitor centres
|
- Closed.
- Remote service can be accessed from Torquay which remains open.

Torquay Library
|
- Open, with extended hours until 6.30pm to support heat health relief.

Immunisation sessions
|
- Services will be provided except in Bushfire risk zones at highest risk times.
- Services in Grassfire risk zones at high-risk times may be affected.

Building Compliance
|
- Services will be provided except in Bushfire risk zones at highest risk times.
- Services in Grassfire risk zones at high-risk times may be affected.

- Cleaning of public toilets will be conducted before 10 am and later in the day when risk has reduced

Road Inspection – drainage, traffic managements, road safety
Road opening inspections, vehicle crossing inspections and subdivision inspections
