Surf Coast Shire Arts Team has invited artist Kylie Stillman to lead a one-hour online session on how to write a clear and engaging artist statement.

In this session, Kylie will share how she developed her own artist statement and walk through a simple way to write your own. She’ll offer practical tips and show examples of strong statements that help audiences understand and connect with your work.

This session is suited to artists and creative organisations who want to better share their story. It will be delivered via Microsoft Teams, and registrations are essential.

Meet the presenter

Kylie Stillman is an artist who has successfully communicated her practice thoughtfully and proactively, developing a strong ability to clearly share ideas and connect with audiences throughout her career. She is passionate about supporting fellow artists across Australia, offering practical tips to strengthen communication and build audiences. Originally trained in painting at RMIT, Kylie now works with found materials and is best known for her detailed book sculptures and wood carvings inspired by birds, plant life and personal marks.
