There have been H5 bird flu cases confirmed in Surf Coast Shire. If you see sick or dead birds or other wildlife, follow the advice from Agriculture Victoria and avoid direct contact, record what you see and report to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.

In support of IDAHOBIT day the Rainbow flag will be raised at the Civic Office and a morning tea held on Monday 11 May 2026.
Reuben Whyte, an artist who conducts LGBTIQA+ inclusive creative workshops, will speak on the importance of allies and his experience as an artist working with young LGBTIQA+ people in rural and regional communities.
Following the flag raising, morning tea will be shared with attendees.
