Surf Coast Shire Council awarded the contract of management to Belgravia Leisure in June for Winchelsea Pool and Torquay’s Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre which is set to open early in 2027.
Belgravia manages more than 160 pools on behalf of clients across Australia and New Zealand.
Surf Coast Shire Deputy Mayor Tony Phelps: “It is going to be a big, busy season and we welcome Belgravia as a respected operator bringing many years of specialist experience and ideas.
“Following on from the record attendances we had during the 2025-26 season, we look forward to seeing everyone once again enjoying this fabulous community asset.
“Get ready to make a splash Winchelsea!”
Belgravia Leisure CEO Nick Cox: “Belgravia Leisure is proud to partner with Surf Coast Shire Council to manage Winchelsea Swimming Pool.
“This recently refurbished facility is designed to be a community space, with facilities and activities welcoming all ages and abilities, including children, families, youth, community groups, recreational and organised sports, and those with special needs.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Winchelsea residents back to the venue soon and will work with Council to deliver a great summer ahead.”
The Winchelsea Pool, with 25m pool, program pool and splash pad, underwent an $8.9 million Council-funded redevelopment before opening early in 2025.
Attendance across its first full season, 2025-26, topped 8,000 – easily a record.
