We know access to community space is important to many clubs and organisations in the shire, and we want to make sure to provide a consistent and sustainable approach to the way we allocate space to different groups.
Our Community Buildings Study (2015) included a three year action plan to improve the use and management of Council owned or managed buildings. To help with this we have created two draft policies to protect public land and assets while supporting facility users’ objectives.
What are the policies?
There are two draft policies:
Use of Council Facilities Policy (draft)(PDF, 311KB)
This policy addresses who shall be granted use of a Council facility, and the priority order for allocating access to facilities.
Property Use Agreement Policy (draft)(PDF, 401KB)
This is a formal agreement that outlines the rights and obligations of each party and includes a recommendation that users contribute to utility costs.
With these policies we hope to set a consistent, transparent and fair approach for providing access to the facilities.
Download the draft policies above, then provide your feedback using our online form.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on these policies, and the form will be open until 5pm Friday 13 April 2018.
