My connection to the Surf Coast began when my parents built a beach house in Torquay in the 1960’s. I used to hang out on the surf beach all holidays. Subsequently the family purchased a block in BelLbrae.
My wife and I moved from Melbourne to Anglesea permanently in 2016 and love living on the Surf Coast.
We have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. My wife Helen was a primary school principal, my job became one the original house husbands, a recommended career!
I was diagnosed with a muscle wasting disease – IBM - in 2013, I am in a wheelchair full time, so I understand how living with a disability affects a person’s life, everyday.
I was invited to join the Committee so that I can contribute my living experience with a disability. I’m finding that being on a committee is a fairly steep learning curve but an enjoyable one.
