Please note: when we talk about ‘disability’ we include long-term health conditions, mental health, impairments, neurodivergence, and age-related changes.

About the Draft Disability Action Plan 2027-31

This action plan will help guide Council work towards building a more inclusive community for everyone who lives, works and plays in Surf Coast Shire.

The draft plan has been developed using feedback from:

  • Over 100 community members with a disability and carers who participated in the Council Plan survey in 2025.
  • Council's Disability Advisory Committee.

The plan builds on work Council has been doing over many years in disability inclusion.
