Complaints about food businesses
Council's Environmental Health Officers investigate food safety complaints made about businesses that trade within the Surf Coast Shire.
Examples of the types of complaints investigated include:
- Food poisoning;
- Unclean food business;
- Unhygienic food handling practices;
- Foreign object found in food;
- Unsatisfactory food labelling; and
- Unsatisfactory allergen management controls.
When reporting a complaint the following information is requested:
- Name and address of business;
- Date and time of incident;
- Other relevant details such as food consumed, description of person who served you and/or any food poisoning symptoms experienced; and
- Your contact details (in case any further information is required) - please note that these details are kept confidential.
