Complaints about food businesses

Council's Environmental Health Officers investigate food safety complaints made about businesses that trade within the Surf Coast Shire.

Examples of the types of complaints investigated include:

  • Food poisoning;
  • Unclean food business;
  • Unhygienic food handling practices;
  • Foreign object found in food;
  • Unsatisfactory food labelling; and
  • Unsatisfactory allergen management controls.

 


When reporting a complaint the following information is requested:

  • Name and address of business;
  • Date and time of incident;
  • Other relevant details such as food consumed, description of person who served you and/or any food poisoning symptoms experienced; and
  • Your contact details (in case any further information is required) - please note that these details are kept confidential.
