This easily accessible reserve offers a short low gradient walking track and boardwalk allowing visitors the opportunity to observe the birdlife and enjoy the views. There is a picnic table for people wanting to stay longer, and children can enjoy the nearby Bark Hut Reserve Playground or walk to the lighthouse.
The water level at Allen Noble varies naturally with rainfall and runoff from the surrounding residential areas as all stormwater in this part of town drains into the reserve. When rainfall is low there may be very little open water, but waterbirds can be seen year-round as they forage among the rushes.
