Waste and Recycling

Free green waste in November

An increasing environmental awareness along the Surf Coast has raised expectations of waste management practices. Council has responded by encouraging people to "Reduce, Re-use and Recycle".

Householders are required to separate paper, cardboard, other recyclables and general rubbish when leaving these out for collection from the kerbside.

A range of materials including paper, cardboard, rigid plastics, glass, metal and garden organise waste, can be brought to Surf Coast Shire waste transfer sites for recycling.

Selected transfer stations also accept car batteries, automotive oil, tyres and clean chemical drums for recycling. View the list of materials accepted at each transfer stations.
