Coogoorah Park Boardwalk - temporary closure of section
Published on 30 November 2022
Surf Coast Shire Council is consulting with independent engineers on the replacement of the upper north-east section of the boardwalk at Coogoorah Park in Anglesea.
This section of elevated walkway is to be temporarily cordoned off while being assessed. It will be closed from the week starting 12 December.
The boardwalk, constructed in 1985, has deteriorated over the years and is due for replacement.
This involves removing this segment of boardwalk within the park and replacing it like for like, with a similar design.
Engineers are currently assessing the scale of works and will provide a timeframe for reopening as soon as possible.
While Council is working on the update, people can continue to reach the northern island via the gravel pathway.
