Young people looking for a school holiday activity can hang out at Surf Coast Youth sessions in Anglesea, Lorne and Winchelsea.

Council’s Surf Coast Youth team invites people aged between 10 and 17 to drop in for food, games, music and activities in the upcoming winter holidays. There is no cost to attend.

Staffed by two youth workers, the sessions will be held in:

  • Lorne

Monday 29 June and Monday 6 July
Stribling Reserve Community Pavilion – 45 Otway St

  • Winchelsea

Wednesday 1 July and Wednesday 8 July
Winchelsea Shire Hall – 28 Hesse St

  • Anglesea

Friday 3 July and Friday 10 July
Anglesea Community House – 5 McMillan St

All programs will run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, with young people able to stay for the whole session or come and go as they please. No sign-up is needed.

Councillor Leon Walker said the drop-in sessions were a great way for young people to spend time with their friends and meet new people.

“We want to see increased social connections across the community, including for our youth,” he said.

“The drop in sessions offer an opportunity to get out of the house these school holidays and get together for some relaxed fun.

“Other ways to get out the house include utilising community, sport and recreation facilities across the shire. All the details are available on our website at surfcoast.vic.gov.au/Council/Venues.”
