Works will include:
- Construction of 4 raised speed platforms (or speed humps).
- Road pavement rehabilitation and asphalt resurfacing.
- New road signs and line marking, including green line markings in areas where cars and cyclists share the road.
These works are designed to improve road safety and reduce vehicle speed on Darian Road.
The works will be conducted in two stages. Stage one works will be between Fischer Street and The Esplanade. Stage two works will commence after stage one works and will be between Surf Coast Highway and Fischer Street.
Construction impacts
During construction, road closures will be in place from 7am to 6pm each day to allow a safe working site for the construction team.
Access for local traffic and busses will be maintained through the work site. All other traffic will need to follow the detour routes.
The map below shows the detour routes and road work areas.
The road will reopen to traffic at the end of each working day. Temporary speed reductions and ramps may be in place to keep the road safe for all users, particularly around exposed edges, drop offs or property access points.
Waste collection is scheduled before 6am on Friday, the normal collection day. Please place your bins out the night before to ensure they are ready for collection.
