Love the Surf Coast Arts Trail? Become a Trail volunteer!

Teams of volunteers are set to enhance this year’s Surf Coast Arts Trail experience by providing support for artists, venues and visitors.
Organisers are inviting Trail lovers to register for minimum three-hour volunteer shifts across the weekend.
They will aim to help welcome patrons, support activities and carry out administrative tasks such as tracking visitor numbers and gathering survey responses.
Surf Coast Shire Council will stage the 15th annual Trail on 1 and 2 August, attracting thousands of people to admire the work and methods of hundreds of artists from hinterland to coast.
Cr Liz Pattison: “Our calling on volunteers is all about magnifying the welcoming warmth of this great event for patrons, and helping free up the star attractions – the artists – to focus more on sharing their art and techniques.
“We would like our volunteer supporters to become just as much a part of the event as the artists, and if you are an art lover what a great way to immerse in your passion for a few hours and help out at the same time.
“Volunteers can be family or friends of participating artists or not have any associations at all, and don’t have to live in Surf Coast Shire. They will need to provide working with children certification, we will provide training and assign them to artists and venues.”
Volunteers will receive special annual Arts Trail volunteer mementoes to remember their experiences and be celebrated at a special thank-you event.
Last year’s Trail featured more than 200 artists at 56 venues. More than 15,000 people admired their work, shared their inspiration and generated more than $210,000 in sales.
