Becoming a parent for the first time is an exciting and daunting time.

The Surf Coast First Time Parent Group program is an opportunity to meet other parents with new babies, have some fun, ask questions and learn about a variety of topics relevant to new parents.

Held in a relaxed and supportive environment, the groups are facilitated by our Child and Family Health team.  Session topics include play and development, sleep, looking after yourself as parents, and home safety and first aid.  Some sessions are open to all, and other sessions are specifically designed for either birthing parents/mums, or non-birthing parents/partners/dads.

At your first visit with a Maternal and Child Health Nurse, your family will be added to our group waiting list, and you will be invited to join a group when your baby is around 1-2 months old.

If you have recently moved to the Surf Coast Shire with a young baby, you can enquire about groups by calling 5261 0549 or submit an enquiry.
