First elected: 2012

Eve Fisher is a journalist, teacher and passionate environmentalist who has lived on the Surf Coast for nearly 10 years. Her work as a journalist has instilled in her a desire to lobby for change, while teaching, at both high school and university level, has opened her eyes to issues outside the environmental spectrum.

Animal welfare, public transport and the plight of the state education system are close to Eve’s heart, while at a local level in Surf Coast Shire she is driven to promote renewable energy, garner support for art, sport and cultural initiatives and increase youth services.

Now that she is on Council Eve would like to develop an action plan to make the Shire carbon neutral and would also like to help establish a solar power co-operative.

On a personal note, the 34-year-old loves travelling, photography, writing, reading, running, swimming, seeing live music, learning to surf, roller derby, drinking coffee, attending music festivals, camping and going on road trips. She has two dogs – Barbara and Zephyr.
