Connecting Surf City to Bristol Road

Construction has started on a new footpath from Baines Crescent to Bristol Road on the west side of Surf Coast Highway. 

This footpath will deliver a missing link in the shared path network along the Surf Coast Highway, connecting the Surf precinct to the Torquay Town centre and foreshore. 

The works will take place in three stages. 

  • Stage one from north of Saint Therese Church through to the caravan park, will commence on Monday 19 May.
  • Stage two from the caravan park to Baines Crescent, will commence once stage one is complete. 
  • Stage three will connect the path in front of the caravan park. 

Works are expected to be completed by December 2025. 

The works will affect some existing driveways. Council's contractor will contact affected residents to minimise any inconvenience.
