Aquatic centre build approaching

Aquatic-2

Construction of the $46 million Surf Coast Aquatic and Health Centre is scheduled to start mid-year.

Design is complete and a planning permit is in place, with construction programmed to run from July 2024 to mid 2026.

The centre will adjoin Wurdi Baierr Stadium in north Torquay and planning is underway to ensure continued safe access to and around the stadium and Banyul Warri Fields precinct during construction.

Updates on temporary parking and access arrangements will be posted on the project website surfcoast.vic.gov.au/pool along with latest design images.

The centre will bring health and wellbeing benefits for community members and visitors, with a 25-metre indoor pool, program pool, gym and allied health suites.

Design has focused on accessibility and balancing environmental sustainability with positive user experience and aesthetics.

Construction is set to be complete mid-2026.
