Activities for young children
There are plenty of activities across the shire for the whole family to enjoy.
See below for information on regular activities.
Community playgroups provide an opportunity for parents and young children to come together in a fun, safe, and relaxed environment. They provide an opportunity for children to play, explore and develop their social skills. Adults attending playgroup get a chance to meet other people going through similar experiences, ease the isolation that can come with caring for young children and find out about local community, health and support services.
Surf Coast Shire, in partnership with BCYF, runs two smalltalk playgroups in Anglesea and Torquay. These playgroups are facilitated by a qualified early years professional who provides activities for you and your child to enjoy together. Weekly topics exploring how young children develop and learn are also discussed. Please contact Melita Bond to register your interest: Melita.Bond@bcyf.org.au
To find a playgroup, visit the Playgroups Victoria website, or call the Torquay Children’s Hub on 5261 0549.
