Family Day Care is a professional, home-based child care service for children aged between six weeks and 12 years of age. It is a small group environment; educators can only have up to four preschool children at one time with the possibility of three other school-aged children.

  • This flexible service offers care according to families’ needs
  • The small group environment lets children learn through quality interactions and experiences.
  • The service operates in accordance with Commonwealth Guidelines, Department of Education & Training, Department of Employment and the National Quality Framework.

Who will care for my child?

The experienced educators are self-employed and contract their service to Surf Coast Shire Council. We in turn support them with coordination, recruitment, training and certification.

How much does it cost?

Council sets the fees and charges, which currently range from $10.95 - $12.33 per hour.

Contact the Family Assistance Office on 136 150 to apply for the childcare subsidy to help with the cost of fees.

How do I register?

Easy! Complete the request for care form.
