Sending your child to family day care
Sending your children to family day care means they spend time in another family home in a small group environment. Educators can only have up to four preschool children at one time (with the possibility of three other school-aged children).
- This service is for children aged between six weeks and 12 years of age.
- It's flexible and hours can be booked according to your family's needs.
- The service operates in accordance with Commonwealth Guidelines, Department of Education & Training, Department of Employment and the National Quality Framework.
Who will care for my child?
The experienced educators are self-employed and contract their service to Surf Coast Shire Council. We in turn support them with coordination, recruitment, training and certification.
How much does it cost?
Council sets the fees and charges, which currently range from $12.05 - $13.15 per hour.
Contact the Family Assistance Office on 136 150 to apply for the childcare subsidy to help with the cost of fees.
How do I register?
Easy! Complete the request for care form.
If you'd like a response from us, please give us your email address (we won't use it for anything else)
