The kerbside service is designed for general household waste and is standard across the shire.

It is not applicable for vacant land (property without an occupancy certificate) or commercial business waste (for this you should engage a commercial waste service).


Apply for a new URBAN kerbside bin service

Complete this form if you:

  • have a recently constructed residence
  • are in a township/urban collection area
  • and need to apply for a new residential kerbside bin service.

If you have purchased an existing dwelling and any of the kerbside bins are missing, please use the Bin Replacement Form or contact our Customer Service Team on 5261 0600.


Apply for a RURAL kerbside bin service

Complete this form if you:

  • are in a rural collection area
  • and need to apply for a residential kerbside bin service.

If your property already has a kerbside service and any of your kerbside bins are missing, please use the Bin Replacement Form or contact our Customer Service Team on 5261 0600.


Apply for an additional bin

Our standard waste service includes one of each type of bin (FOGO, recycling, glass-only and landfill). If necessary you can get an additional bin of any type for an annual fee. 

If you move to another property within Surf Coast Shire, you must notify Council so we can update your records. 

When or if you no longer require the the extra bin it is your responsibility to notify us via the Cancellation Request form.


Exchange your bin for a larger bin

Our standard kerbside bin service includes

  • 240-litre FOGO bin
  • 240-litre recycling bin
  • 140-litre glass-only bin
  • 140-litre landfill bin

If these bin sizes do not meet your household's waste and recycling requirements, you can apply for a larger bin for a fee (once-off fee for all bins except the landfill bin which is an annual fee). 

Any existing bins replaced with larger bins must be completely empty before we can exchange them.

If you move to another property within Surf Coast Shire, you you must notify Council so we can update your records and replace the bin at your previous address. 

When or if you no longer require the the extra bin it is your responsibility to notify us via the Cancellation Request form.
